This reminded me of National Geographic’s Photo of the Day for April 5, 2011.

How does a sandhill crane find his/her one true love in all that?

“Gnus”, those aren’t gnus… (oops)

One of the highlights of my sole trip to the US was watching thousands of Lesser Sandhills descending at dusk onto a tiny lake at Muleshoe, Texas. European Cranes are slowly, slowly creeping their way back into my particular corner of the UK!
