Fossil gastropods
Lecanospira_perplana (Heller)Roubidoux Formation, Lower (Early-Gasconadian/Tremadocian) Ordovician (~480 Ma). Shirley, Missouri. This fossil gastropod is preserved in chert packstone with chalcedony permineralization and red-orange hydrated iron oxides (limonite-goethite). Sinstral (left-handed/counterclockwise) coiling is seen when looking down from apex of whorls (right-half of fossil).

Mr. Kocher will be offered the book, Dan Levitt, What’s Gotten Into You?, generously donated by the National Center for Science Education.
