Cucumis sativus – cucumber. No, not an entry, but what is a post without a picture?

The period for submitting entries to the photography contest ends now, August 24, at noon Mountain Daylight Time (6 h earlier than UTC). As of this writing, we have received 21 submissions from 9 photographers. We will select finalists and post a poll as soon as possible, but not later than next Monday, August 31. Voting will close the following week, on Tuesday, September 8 at 8 a.m., MDT, and the winning photograph will be posted at noon that day.
